CQB FUNDAMENTALS

The 1st Alpha Co. CQB Fundamentals Course is designed to provide students with a practical foundation in the principles, techniques, and decision-making required to operate effectively within interior environments. This is a non-live-fire course utilizing marking cartridges and force-on-force training. Training begins with an initial skills assessment to establish a baseline before progressing into the core CQB curriculum.

Instruction begins with the fundamentals of room entry and interior movement, establishing the individual responsibilities and principles upon which the remainder of the course is built. Students will then progress through increasingly complex problems involving doorways, hallways, intersections, danger areas, multiple rooms, low-light environments, and
team-based movement.

Each training block builds upon the previous block, allowing students to develop a systematic approach to solving problems inside structures rather than simply memorizing techniques. As the course progresses, students will be required to apply these principles under increasing levels of complexity and pressure through practical exercises and force-on-force scenarios.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

• Carbine equipped with an approved UTM / Simunition conversion

• Weapon-mounted light
• Sling
• Minimum of 2 carbine magazines
• Required PPE for force-on-force training
• Eye and ear protection
• Civilian clothing capable of being worn over equipment for role-player scenarios
• Cleaning rod / appropriate equipment for malfunction clearance
• 300 rounds of approved rifle marking ammunition
• Lunch, snacks, and sufficient water for each training day

• UTM-style protective helmet
• Paintball or approved force-on-force mask
• Metal-mesh airsoft-style face protection
• Chest protector
• Ballistic or bump helmet
• Body armor / duty kit
• Load-bearing equipment
• SIM pistol with appropriate marking ammunition

TRAINING STANDARD

Students should arrive prepared to train in a physically and mentally demanding environment. The emphasis throughout the course is on fundamentals, problem-solving, communication, disciplined decision-making,
and the ability to apply CQB principles as conditions change. Students should expect extended training periods, including daylight, low-light, and nighttime evolutions, with increasing levels of complexity as the course progresses.

LODGING/SUSTAINMENT

There is no on-site lodging available for this course. However, there are multiple lodging options located near the training site. There are no on-site food options. Students traveling from outside the area are responsible for arranging their own accommodations. Specific lodging recommendations can be provided upon request. Students should arrive prepared with all food, water, and supplies required for the training period.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENT

Minimum class size: 6 students.

A minimum of six registered students is required for the course to be conducted. If the minimum enrollment is not met, all registered students will receive a full refund.

ELIGIBILITY

This course is open to U.S. citizens who meet the following requirements:

Must be legally permitted to possess a firearm under applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Open to qualified, law-abiding civilians.

Active-duty, Reserve, and National Guard military personnel are welcome.

Federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel are welcome.

Students must be able to safely participate in physically demanding training and follow all range and force-on-force safety requirements.

U.S. citizenship and legal eligibility to possess a firearm are required for all participants.
